Isla Aguilar

Isla graduated in History of Art in Madrid and supplemented her studies with scholarships and internships at Calcografía Nacional; Museo Sorolla in Madrid; Museo del Prado and the Academia de España in Rome.

Isla’s background is in curating and she has organised exhibitions in several Spanish museums as well as other cultural events. She has also worked in publishing, as a project editor and co-ordinator of art books in Ediciones El Viso, Madrid. At present, beyond co-directing BE Festival, she works as producer of Mirage compañía de teatro, collaborates with CASA Latin American Theatre Festival as well as studying a MFA in Curating at Goldsmiths University of London.

Mike Tweedle

+44 (0) 7886 964 835 Mike was born in Birmingham and is very happy to be living and working here again. He trained as an actor at the Ecole Jacques Lecoq in Paris. As well as co-directing BE, he is joint artistic director of Temple Theatre, for whom he’s directed three productions that have toured across Europe, including the double award-winning Out of Chaos

He has performed and directed for other companies including Jumbled, Shakespeare’s Globe, CASA Latin American Theatre Festival and the National Youth Theatre. He is currently developing a new show - Babakas – with his new Birmingham-based ensemble be company.

Miguel Oyarzun

+44 (0)780 670 441 Miguel trained as an actor in Madrid. He then came to London where he studied physical theatre. Stage credits in Spain include Miss Julie, The Shop around the Corner and As You Like It.  In England, he has performed for the CASA Latin-American Theatre Festival. Other stage credits include Up Side-Down, No Way Out, Pillow Talk and Babakas. He has also acted for film and TV in Spain, including Noviembre by Achero Mañas. 

He combines his directing and acting career with teaching theatre. As well as co-directing BE FESTIVAL he is artistic director of Mirage compañía de teatro. Their latest production, LÁZARO was premiered at the International Classical Theatre Festival of Almagro in 2010.

Felix Andrew

+44 (0)7766 688 406 Felix is an actor, writer and freelance arts administrator.
After graduating from ArtsEd in 2008 he worked with Mike and Miguel on Seven Degrees of Tropical Entropy as part of the CASA Latin American Theatre Festival  at The Union Theatre. 

Since then he has performed in several fringe productions, virals and short films.  He was most recently seen as part of the ensemble in Inherit the Wind at The Old Vic. He has completed his first full length play and has submitted several pieces to short play competitions.  As well as being General Manager of BE FESTIVAL he is Artistic Director of family day Little BE.

His love of creating theatre is matched only by his love of creating spreadsheets.

David Martin de Juan

design@befestival.org David has gained experience working on branding and design, and has specialised in promoting festivals and cultural events. His design work in UK includes festivals such as Edinburgh FRINGE, Latin American Film Festival (LAFF); emerging theatre companies including Le Navet Bête and HICCUP; and Arts circuit Spinning Tongues by rotoreliefs. 

He has been awarded the Three Weeks’ Editors Awards 2008 for “La Sweet Cantina” and selected for D&AD Design Workshop 2009. As well as working as BE Festival’s designer he works as Inhouse designer for Unruly Media, Top Viral Video seeding agency based in London.

Jack Ratcliffe

web@doyouknowjack.co.uk Jack is a freelance consultant for web design and copywriting. He has worked in both the UK and the US, constructing websites and writing creative content for all ages. 

His portfolio includes development work on music website Beatcast.TV and PinnacleSports.com, with copywriting appearing on both the internet and in printed form.
