BE FESTIVAL SUMMER 2022 Be Festival
.

We are looking for volunteers to work with us in the delivery of BE FESTIVAL’s two exciting projects taking place in Birmingham this summer:

ATLAS will bring together 100 residents of Birmingham to be part of a large-scale participatory project – a living map of the city

GARDEN STATE will create an ephemeral communal garden at mac Birmingham in the theatre. This garden will consist of a large collection of private plants collected door to door, by the artists, from Birmingham’s inhabitants and re-composed as a communal garden in the theatre – A newly thought-out space offered to the people of Birmingham giving the liberty to share thoughts, discuss and dream together.

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals of all ages to work for either or both of these shows.

You could be a returning volunteer from previous years, or looking to join us for the first time

The wide range of areas we are looking to cover includes supporting the setup and takedown of the festival venues, assisting with marketing and promotion, stewarding and front of the house, ushering, welcoming, hospitality and some technical support to name a few.

BE FESTIVAL 2022 will be two intense weeks in an exciting and creative environment with opportunities to connect and meet with others giving you an experience that goes beyond just the events. A dedicated and thoughtful volunteer network will make a big difference in the experience and smooth running of the festival for every person involved as well as for the audiences who attend the festival.

In return for your time, we guarantee that you will receive a unique and involved insight into live event management and the practical experience of the running of a festival, as you contribute to the effective delivery of this summer’s events, working with the BE Festival team in facilitating artists and companies from across Europe to work with the diverse communities of Birmingham.

We will take you through everything you need to know in advance on a volunteer briefing and training day on the week commencing the 9th of May.

We mainly need your commitment and availability between 28th May to 12th June (festival preparation, festival delivery & festival strike down) and ideally, you would be available for all or most of this time. Some additional assistance is needed within marketing and promotion taking place from 9th May.

For more information or to register your interest, please send to porl@befestival.org.
