OPEN PARTICIPANT CALL: ATLAS BIRMINGHAM
BE FESTIVAL 2022
BE FESTIVAL is seeking 100 residents of Birmingham to be part of ATLAS BIRMINGHAM, a large-scale participatory project – a living map of the city.
Join us for a celebration that is representative of the city and its people.
This project will be the opening act and centrepiece of BE FESTIVAL in 2022.
BE FESTIVAL is a Birmingham-based arts organisation who believes in:
– crossing borders between countries, languages, cultures and disciplines;
– creating meaningful, lasting connections between people of diverse backgrounds, through the medium of the performing arts and the framework of a festival.
We are looking for the entire cross-section of society and are interested in as many professions, cultures, ethnicities, ages and dis/abilities possible in order to recreate a map that represents Birmingham. This means you could be employed, retired, a student, new to the city, born here, moved here, anything counts.
KEY DATES: You would need to be available between Saturday 28 May – Saturday 4 June 2022 inclusive to attend rehearsals either in the afternoons, or evenings and be part of 2 public performances.
Performances take place on Friday 3rd and Saturday 4 June at 7.30pm.

This is a voluntary opportunity, but we look to cover travel & provide subsistence to participants.
ATLAS is an idea and performance by professional and experienced artists Ana Borralho and João Galante (Portugal).
No experience in theatre or drama is necessary.
