Forty years ago, singer of the Sex Pistols Johnny Rotten said “I wanna be anarchy” and thus punk rock was born. Punk was not just music, but a way of life. A rebellion against the status quo.
Today, choreographer Paula Rosolen questions what now remains of ‘punk’; the visual language of which increasingly found and finds its way into the fashion world and mainstream culture. It playfully examines its roots in specific dance moves and makes unexpected connections with simultaneous developments in postmodern dance.
