BE Next is the festival’s free theatre training opportunity for young people aged 14-19 based in Birmingham. Participants attend 7 afternoon workshops led by BE 2010 award-winning Danish company Out of Balanz, learning physical, ensemble and devising skills and creating a short piece to be scratched on the festival stage.

The programme is targeted at young people who speak English as a second language, or who speak a second language at home. The project is co-produced by members of the Birmingham Rep Young Producers programme.
Out of Balanz is an award-winning, international theatre ensemble based in Copenhagen, recognized for their highly collaborative creative process and for producing original work rich in spectacle and adventurous in form. Since their first production in 2006, they’ve created 10 original works and have toured to 11 different countries.
