In this workshop, we will explore “the quality” as a tool for actors to face a scene or a text. Considering the actor as an artist who proposes ideas through ensemble work, the essence of text or scene needs to be extracted through what is personal in the actor. Improvisations with actors should focus on how to translate the content of a text into a theatrical language.
Andrés Lima is the director of Animalario, one of the most prominent and audacious companies in Spain. He has recently explored society’s lack of socio-political education in his workshop Capitalism, within the series “Ideas in Motion”. Taking Naomi Klein’s The Shock Doctrine as a point of departure, he employed theatrical tools to question the world we have been sold and why we have bought it.
