The theatrical body must explore its expressive potential in order to create extraordinary, powerful language. Our research has led us to the primitive force of mimesis, and we use it in creating a poetic analysis of reality. Inspired by Marcel Marceau, Etienne Decroux and Jacques Lecoq, our pedagogy seeks to discover the full range of an actor’s physical expression, nuances of movement and dramatic gesture. In this workshop we will work specifically on body metaphor, motion analysis and contact work. Sara and Pierre-Yves met at the Marcel Marceau School in 1994 and have worked together since graduating, first as members of the Marceau Company, then with Acta Fabula and finally as a duo with their own repertoire.
