An introduction to lighting design with Tomás Muñoz

This workshop is directed at participants who want to gain a first insight into lighting design. We will learn about the basic technical equipment used in a design, and we will look at concepts such as luminosity, intensity, diffusion, brightness, levels, flux, contrast, colour, realistic and non-realistic lighting. We will explore the process of designing through a practical case-study.

Tomás has worked as a lighting designer, set designer and director on more than forty theatre, dance and opera productions across Spain. He regularly directs and designs for Teatro Gayarre, Pamplona; Teatro de la Maestranza, Sevilla; Teatro Real, Madrid; and Teatro Campoamor, Oviedo. He teaches at the School of Art and Architecture of the Universidad Europea de Madrid.
